Description

During the summer of 2012, I spent a number of weeks hiking through the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The white Mountains are not only a place of freedom for me, but also a place of great nostalgia since I spent a lot of my childhood there as well.

One day I decided to take a trip to the Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park. The flume is a bit of a touristy area, but absolutely breathtaking none the less. I decided to head up the flume on early weekday morning in order to avoid a decent amount of visitors.

To my surprise, when I reached the top of the flume, I was greeted by this hungry little fluff-ball. One of the mot friendly little squirrels I’ve ever seen. I had some trail mix and picked out the peanuts in order to give him. At one point he even placed his front paws right on my hands as he ate from them. Definitely a professional beggar in the White Mountains of New Hampshire!
